Mac Admins Foundation Awards Final 2025 Conference Grants for MacSysAdmin

The Mac Admins Foundation is thrilled to announce the award of our final 2025 Community and Conference Grants for MacSysAdmin. After careful review of all applications, the Foundation has selected two outstanding recipients to attend the MacSysAdmin 2025 Conference in Gothenburg, Sweden.

All awardees have been notified via email and will receive registration for the MacSysAdmin 2025 Conference in Gothenburg (30 September - 3 October, 2025) plus $2,500 USD towards travel and accommodation expenses.

Mac Admins Foundation Partners with Phobio for Device Recycling Program

Mac Admins can now donate their old devices to support the Foundation and save the planet at the same time

The Mac Admins Foundation, the nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting, educating, and connecting the global community of Apple IT professionals, is proud to announce the launch of its new Device Recycling Program through a unique partnership with Phobio. This initiative allows members to donate their used cellphones, tablets, and laptops, turning yesterday’s tech into financial support for the Foundation’s programs — while keeping electronics out of landfills.

Mac Admins Foundation Exceeds Fundraising Goal For Initial Membership Drive

The Mac Admins Foundation is proud to announce the resounding success of its inaugural membership drive, exceeding its original target by an astounding 75%. The campaign–which ran over the past two weeks–not only brought in a record number of new members but also demonstrated the growing strength and importance of the global community of Mac administrators and IT professionals.

The Foundation set an initial goal to recruit 100 new recurring donors, and thanks to the enthusiastic support from professionals across the globe, over 175 individuals joined the organization’s sponsorship rolls, reflecting a massive surge in interest and commitment to the values of knowledge-sharing, innovation, and collaboration within the Mac administration field.

Mac Admins Open Source announces Jamf Pro SDK for Python

The macOS Client Engineering team at Amazon has released a new Python package in partnership with Mac Admins Open Source. The “Jamf Pro SDK for Python” is a library for writing scripts and developing integrations with Jamf Pro’s APIs and webhooks.

This is an alpha release of the project. After a period of community feedback, and any required changes to the SDK’s internals and interfaces, it will enter into beta and then finally a 1.0 release.

Attending members of the Board of Directors participated in two panels this year. One was an update from the Mac Admins Foundation and its first year. Mac SysAdmin & Developer Conference ticket giveaway

The Mac Admins Foundation is excited to announce a giveaway of two (2) tickets to the 2023 Mac SysAdmin & Developer Conference. This year’s conference will be in Brighton, UK with an expo on May 22nd followed by the conference on the 23rd and 24th.

This giveaway is only open to individuals located in the UK.

Two (2) names will be selected from submissions received by 5pm PST Tuesday April 18th using a random number generator. Winners will be contacted on or about Friday April 21st.

Announcing Mac Admins Open Source (MAOS)

The Mac Admins community has long produced open source tools of incredible value to its members, but there hasn’t been a way to provide strong code signing resources to use when signing and notarizing binaries and installer packages for those tools. Starting today, Mac Admins Open Source is launching with the support of the Mac Admins Foundation. Mac Admins can apply for and receive secure codesigning support free of charge.

Announcing the Inaugural Class of the Mac Admins Foundation Scholarship Program

The Mac Admin Foundation’s first scholarship program provides members of the Mac Admins community the opportunity to test and certify for the Apple Certified Support Professional and Apple Certified IT Professional certifications.

The board is pleased to announce that the Mac Admins Foundation has issued 390 exam codes to 195 scholarship recipients in January.

We wish recipients the best of luck on their exams, and look forward to celebrating their success in the coming months.

Mac Admins Foundation Announces Four New Board Members

The Mac Admins Foundation is proud to announce the addition of four new members of the Board of Directors. After a search process featuring more than 50 applicants, the Board of Directors voted to expand the number of seats available from two to four new seats given the quality of the applicants.

“After interviewing our finalists, we felt that we had too many great interviews to limit ourselves to just two of our finalists,” Co-Chair Tom Bridge said, “and we voted to increase the number of board seats from seven to nine to accommodate all the outstanding finalists we spoke with.”

Mac Admins Mentorship program call for volunteers

We’re excited to announce the kick-off for planning and the formation of a working group to build a Mac Admins Mentorship program!

The goal for the mentorship program is to create a community-driven program that is able to meet as many of the Mac Admins community mentorship needs as possible.
