Mission Statement

The Mac Admins Foundation exists to advance the global community of people who manage Apple devices at large and small scales. We accomplish this by:

  • Fostering the connections among Mac Admins around the globe
  • Sharing knowledge and resources for members’ ongoing professional growth
  • Preserving collected knowledge for the benefit of others
  • Making a welcoming and accessible organization to expand the profession
  • Providing for the use of community tools (such as the Mac Admins Slack workspace)
  • Protecting the independence of the community
  • Maintaining affordable access to all community resources, regardless of members’ economic status

What We Do

The foundation’s primary activity is operating a global online community of IT professionals who specialize in Apple hardware and software. Started in 2015, the Mac Admins Slack has grown to over 82,000 members, with roughly 8,900 active in any given month.

Members use the platform to get support and guidance from peers and experts in the field. Beyond technical discussion, it’s an avenue for learning, news, friendships, resource sharing, and local event organizing.

The community is free, openly accessible, and moderated by a team of 14 volunteer administrators. The vast majority of the foundation’s time and budget goes toward maintaining this space.
